What courses can members of the NZHHA access?
Your business has membership
- If your business has membership, you can send employees on our training courses under the business membership.
- You cannot send contractors under your membership.
- Anyone providing contracted services must become a member in their own right before undertaking training.

Introduction to Solid Fuel Heating
- First stage for SFAIT and SFAST
- One day course
Solid Fuel Appliance Installation Technician (SFAIT)
- 2nd stage to become an Installation Technician
- One day Course
SFAIT Audit
- 3rd stage to become an installation Technician
- Inspection of installations
SFAIT Certified
- Successfully completed the 3 stages
- Certificate and SFAIT number issued
- Photo ID card issued
- Entered on Register
SFAIT Refresher
- One day course
- Every 2 years to maintain registration
Solid Fuel Appliance Servicing Technician (SFAST)
- Final stage to become a Servicing Technician
- One day course
SFAST Certified
- Successful completion of stages
- Certificate and SFAST number issued
- Photo id card issued
- Entered on Register
SFAST Refresher
- One day course
- Every 2 years to maintain registration
NZHHA Introduction to Solid Fuel Heating Course
The Introduction to Solid Fuel Heating Course is designed for all members wanting to know more about the solid fuel heating industry.
The course is one day long
This course is a prerequisite for the technician courses for “Servicing” and “Installation”.
You will need to bring your copy of the AS/NZ 2918:2001
Your confirmation of booking and attendance information will only be sent when you have paid your fees.
All course dates are subject to change. We will consider courses in other regions where we have 10 or more confirmed attendees.
It is not possible to complete the Introduction course and the SFAIT course concurrently as per NZHHA Rules.
Solid Fuel Appliance Installation Technician
Provides for Comprehensive training of safe and practical methods of installing solid fuel appliances in New Zealand Homes.
The course is one day long
You will need to bring your copy of AS/NZ2918:2001

All course dates are subject to change. We will consider courses in other regions where we have 10 or more potential attendees.
It is not possible to complete the Introduction course and the SFAIT course concurrently as per NZHHA Rules.
Solid Fuel Appliance Servicing Technician
The SFAST course is designed for a member who wants to be a certified Servicing Technician

All course dates are subject to change. We will consider courses in other regions where we have 10 or more potential attendees.
It is not possible to complete the Introduction course and the SFAIT course concurrently as per NZHHA Rules.

No materials or goods will be sent without payment, if payment is not 14 days prior to course attendance the NZHHA cannot Guarantee that you will receive the workbooks in time.
